the moment before the sting impounds
the moment you lose the fresh adrenaline, and realize it
the thought-woven moments when your grip
has no handle. and your mind hopelessly watches the sub unsink
why is this an overcoming tragedy,
more so than the result which follows, like you knew it would
His invisible brush of identifiable enigma.

though you don't know what it is
